The Dikko Project Movement, a group promoting the policies of the Katsina State Government, has provided business empowerment grants to 100 women in Katsina, with each beneficiary receiving N20,000 to support small-scale enterprises.
The empowerment programme was carried out on December 16, 2025, at the Gwagware Foundation, during a meeting that brought together the state executive members of the movement and key stakeholders. The initiative was led by the Chairman of the Dikko Project Movement, Hon. Musa Yusuf Gafai.
The programme is aimed at strengthening women-owned micro and small businesses, easing economic challenges, and improving livelihoods. It forms part of the broader objectives of the Dikko Project Movement to promote women’s economic inclusion and contribute to grassroots economic development across Katsina State.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Musa Gafai underscored the importance of supporting women as active contributors to economic growth. He stated that the initiative reflects the leadership philosophy of Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, and noted that the intervention marked the group’s first direct financial empowerment programme.
Hon. Gafai assured that the movement would continue to implement similar initiatives to address socio-economic gaps, expand opportunities for women entrepreneurs, and support sustainable community development.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Gwagware Foundation, Alhaji Yusuf Ali Musawa, commended the initiative and encouraged beneficiaries to utilize the grants effectively to grow their businesses and enhance their economic independence.
Several community leaders and stakeholders were in attendance and delivered goodwill messages in support of the empowerment programme.
